This soundtrack corresponds to a film of the same name that aired on the cable network, Trio, frequently. Both the movie and soundtrack are a tribute to Harold Arlen, and therefore they contain Arlen cover songs--the album also has an original performance by Harold Arlen himself. Rufus contributes both "It's Only a Paper Moon" and "I Wonder What Became of Me." In the film, Wainwright is seen performing both of these songs, one of which involves a small dance number in a white suit!
It should also be noted that Shannon McNally contributes the song "As Long as I Live" to this album (and is also seen in the film), whom fans know as a backing singer during much of the Want One tour. Other artists include Sandra Bernhard, Ranee Lee, Marc Anthony Thompson, and many others.
